PERT

1. PERT (Program Evaluation & Review Technique) was developed by Donald Malcom of Booz, Allen & Hamilton Consulting for the Polaris Missile Project in the 1960's and consists of Milestone Events connected by dummy restraints. It is oriented to communicating with Top Management without any detail and makes it easier for them to relate to where the project is with the planned schedule and not provide feed back to the computer simulation program that is done by collecting information from the workers and estimating the time between each event.

2. PERT is Milestone Event oriented

3. Management does not want a report with the detail of CPM. They want Milestone Event reporting without the detail.

4. As a result it did not meet the requirements of Supervisors & Workers performing the work activities.

5. So COPES was developed by Atad Corporation. Please see COPES next.
